Light Show Mentorship

Are you interested in light? Do you adore the projection of gorgeous, inspired light and image? Would you like to be mentored by one of Australia’s icons of projected art?

Hugh McSpedden, projection artist since the late 1960’s, is working with Chip Wardale and I on a new project that débuts at this years Melbourne Fringe. The Light Show is largely a celebration of Hugh’s life’s work.

We’re looking for someone young, energetic, enthusiastic and fit, with a penchant for creativity and cool, hard work. You’ll need a current driver’s license and a vehicle. You’ll also want to assist Hugh with set-up, installs and bump-outs during our Melbourne Fringe schedule. What you’ll get in return is hands-on experience with Australia’s first proponent of psychedelic projections and lighting, using modified projectors and hand-made devices.

To get an idea of what Hugh’s been up to, check out this cut down version of his CV.

If this sounds like you, write to me, Andrew Garton / Producer,  telling me why you’d like to be mentored by Hugh, a little about yourself and what you too could bring to his work. A mentorship is a collaboration… we aim to learn from each other.
